When Isabelle and I decided we would crowdfund to start The Monthly Co. we knew we wouldn’t be able to do it alone. We thought we’d ask local New Zealand businesses to give us a hand and we were overwhelmed with the support!
In part one of this post we give a rundown of the first lot of businesses lending us a hand so you can learn a bit more about them and the good things they do.
Fix and Fogg are peanut butter makers with a simple mission - To make the world’s best peanut butter. We love Fix and Fogg because not only do their jars taste amazing, but they’ve also made a massive push to support the local community and be a sustainably focused company. They’re big on reducing food waste and recycling, with a jar return station on Eva St. With every jar returned, Fix and Fogg donate 20c to the Free Store who help to redistribute surplus food in Wellington, which we think is pretty cool.
Noble & Savage are tea merchants based in Christchurch distributing the most delightful range of loose-leaf teas you can find in New Zealand. They make a huge dedication to finding new and unknown flavours and bringing them back home for everyone to enjoy (if you ever feel down, we recommend their maple walnut - instant feel good booster). Rupert and Alan have ensured throughout creating Noble & Savage that the core principles of ‘making human connections’ and ‘giving back’ are a part of everything they do.
Mystery Creek Ceramics is our lovely friend Alex who makes beautiful ceramics and has kindly offered to be part of our journey. All of her pieces are designed and handmade by her, with no two pieces the same! We are so excited to see what she comes up with for us and if her Instagram is anything to go by, we know they will be exquisite.
